How to Achieve the Maximum Exposure for Your App?

Earlier this year Nielsen, an American global information and measurement company, released datacomparing US smartphone users’ app adoption and usage vs. last year. The report says that the average US smartphone owners now have 41 apps on their smartphones compare to 32 apps in 2011.

The Android app market has grown dramatically over the past few years and it now has over 550,000 apps.

The battle of the year is almost drawing to a close. After three tough debates, two major political conventions and many many tours of the United States, the victor in the battle between President Barack Obama and Governor Mitt Romney will be crowned.

The winner of this battle is not determined by strength or size, but by the voters. Since most voters these days have a smartphone, we scoured our searches and crunched the numbers to see if we could find something interesting. This is what we came up with.

3 Tips for Successful App Monetization [INFOGRAPHIC]

This year StartApp is proud to be a sponsor at Apps World London 2012.  We originally wrote this post for Apps World blog, but we thought it was so useful that we just had to share it with all of you!

Generating revenue from your app is turning out to be one of the toughest challenges a developer faces.  There are so many different options, whether it be an out-of-app solution, banner ads, push notifications, etc., It can be overwhelming to choose from the many available options.   No matter what you choose, you should keep in mind these three tips on your way to being an app millionaire.

Planning

Monetization should be a part of your app even before writing the first piece of code.   Will the design allow for banner ads?  Can you create the ability to charge for in app purchases?  Will your app use virtual currency?  Or is a pay per download monetization solution preferred?  Planning in advance will make the monetization solution integrate smoothly into your app and generate more revenue.

Mix and Match

Don’t be afraid to use more than one monetization solution. For example, you could complement a pay per download solution with traditional banner ads.  If you’re using banner ads, you could try integrating several ad networks to increase your fill rate, which will result in higher eCPM.  Good to note: when combining monetization models, be sure to keep the user in mind.  It’s important to find the balance between keeping a successful app based business while still keeping the users satisfied by not being too aggressive.

Implement

If only we could just sit back and watch the money roll in when our monetization strategies are implemented.  This is where the real work comes in.  After a few months, if you find the combination you chose isn’t bringing …
